My Photo
San Diego, CA, United States
I am 43-years-old and am a 4th generation San Diegan. I still live in the San Diego area with my husband. Writing is my emotional outlet and this blog is simply the organization of all my thoughts and feelings. It helps me to make sense of all the craziness in the world and in my life. With every experience I have and with every blog I write, I try to be a bit more introspective and seek to learn something new about myself. Sometimes I like what I learn and other times I don't, but such is my life. Welcome to it.

Pow Wow in Pictures

I haven't done any real photography since February, so it was nice to get out for the day and shoot the dancers at the 23rd Annual  American Indian Cultural Days in Balboa Park. I love pow wows, but I haven't been to this one is several years.

I don't want to call them costumes, because that makes it sound like the dancers are wearing something for Halloween, but I'm not sure of the correct name for what they wear. Ceremonial dress? Regalia? Clothes? Whatever it's called, the outfits are beautiful.

Of all the events that I go to, Pow Wows are my absolute favorite to shoot.  If you ever have the opportunity to see one, I highly recommend it and while you're there, make sure to get some Indian fried bread.  Delicious!
